AKECHI MITSUHARU
Koshirae style attributed to the samurai Akechi Mitsuharu, cousin of the eminent general Akechi Mitsuhide, who betrayed and obliged Oda Nobunaga to commit Seppuku in the so-called "Honnoji incident".
The characteristic of this exclusive Koshirae lies in its Same-wrapped Tsuka with a spiral Tsukamaki finished in Tensho (the ito passes over the buffalo-horn Kashira).

The Saya (scabbard) is carved along the first third and wrapped with Samegawa which adapts to its shape.
The central part of the Saya narrows creating a sort of hourglass shape, is lacquered in Ishime (rough textured finish) and has a Tsunogaeshi (small hook) to fix the Saya to the Obi.
Same-wrapped Tsuka with a spiral Tsukamaki with Tensho finish (the ito passes over the buffalo horn Kashira).
